HP-MICCAI 2010, the second International Workshop on High Performance Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, featured at MICCAI2010, will be held in September 2010 in Beijing, China Proliferation of high resolution multimodality medical images/videos presents considerable challenges to both clinical practitioners and IT specialists. HP-MICCAI2010 will provide a high quality one-day workshop for researchers from different but directly related communities including academic, healthcare and industrial organizations to discuss their latest research and work in addressing these challenges. HP-MICCAI2010 will build on existing collaborative efforts in understanding current trends in HP medical imaging research, exploring new ideas/techniques for image-assisted clinical intervention and decision-making. HP-MICCAI 2010 seeks to expand the success of the first workshop at MICCAI 2008. Papers on computational methods, applications and systems are solicited focus on topics including but not limited to: multi-core, GPU, and massively multi-core algorithms for image-assisted clinical applications high-performance medical image analytics high performance image segmentation, registration, tracking high-throughput image-assited medical simulation, modeling, and training fast 3D reconstruction interactive and real-time 3D rendering and visualization high-throughput medical image-assisted disease screening fast indexing and retrieval from very large medical image databases real time multimedia data fusion and analytics for clinical decision making out-of-core medical image processing distributed, grid and cloud computing for medical imaging
